Smart Technologies, an industry pioneer and market leader in the development of collaborative products, required a robust reporting solution to address the comparison of Cost Centre budget versus actual analysis. The major issues with past procedures were:
- Managers were not autonomous to review budget to variance and answer questions about the makeup of the actuals.
- Finance was required to build the reports for the managers and provided additional detailed info based on for the accounts and departments of interest.
- Finance hired senior, contract accountant to support the business with this process.
